Good Morning and welcome to this week’s edition of INSPIRATIONAL TIDBITS. If you’re reading this, please be thankful – a job, a computer, presumably enough of the work you love to get you through the day, and now, the added treat of the Tidbits. Free, can you imagine? Here at Tidbits Central, we often take a bow to the great master philosophers – Homer Simpson, Yogi (above), and Jack Handey, the “deep thoughts” guru. Today, we defer to a more conventional Master – Confucius. Confucius say: …never approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear or a fool from any direction. …12 months of drinking low-calorie beer = 1 Lite year …the wise speak when they have something to say, but the fool speaks when he has to say something. …he who thinks by the inch and talks by the yard deserves to be kicked by the foot. …the heaviest thing to carry is a grudge. …the best way to save face is to keep the lower part of it shut I’m thinking HARD about this last one: Confucius say…never argue with an idiot...he may be doing the same thing. If you don’t enter the BRAINSQUEEZERS today, I’m going to come to your house unannounced at dinner time (and I really do know where you live). Answers by 2:00 PM please. 1. Behind Sam Snead, who has the next-highest number of PGA tour wins? ( Jack Nicklaus; Arnold Palmer; Tiger Woods ) 2. When the residents of Sunset, Florida decided that the name was too depressing, what did they change it to? ( Sunrise; Sweetwater; Treasure Island ) 3. Who is credited with inventing ice cream? ( Howard Johnson; Dolly Madison; Franklin Sealtest ) 4. What do you call one of those old-time funny flat-topped stiff straw hats? ( Dunmore; Gambler; Boater ) 5. Which of these candy bars was named after its inventor’s horse? ( Snickers; Mr. Goodbar; Butterfinger ) TIEBREAKER: What is the record for the most number of babies borne by one woman over her lifetime? HOW ABOUT 69? OBSCURE EXTRA BONUS QUESTION: What is the most recorded song ever? "YESTERDAY", by the Beatles TB stands for tiebreaker, and today we had another one. It was Norman & Carolee who each got 4 right today, but it was the “older but wiser” NORMAN who won it, guessing 27 to CT’s 24. Nobody was really close on the tiebreaker, with those answers going from a measly 16 up to 50. One skunk today, and nobody got the obscure question right either. Interesting answers on that one included The Star Spangled Banner, Jingle Bells, Amazing Grace, Mona Lisa, and Thriller. That’s right, folks, the guesses were all over the place. Anyway, congrats are in order for Norman, who hasn’t won in a while. Onward we go, merrily into the second quarter! See you next week.
