Howdy, neighbors, and welcome to this week's offering of the ongoing mid-week intrusion we call INSPIRATIONAL TIDBITS. Are you bemused by these 'bits? Annoyed? Mildly interested? Indifferent? Or are you one of the truly enlightened ones who look forward to this stuff so much that your very existence depends on receiving this weekly package? There's still time to change. For today's goods, we have something very practical for you. The next time someone that you really dislike asks you to do something like have lunch, etc, here's a variety of answers that will leave no doubt as to how you feel. Just say "I'd love to BUT....." …the man on the TV said to stay tuned …I have to check the freshness dates on my dairy products …I'm attending the opening of my garage door …I have some real hard words to look up in the dictionary …my Uncle escaped again …I have to rotate my crops And if none of those work: How about NEVER. Does NEVER work for you? Well we had Cinco de Mayo, and now it’s el-squeezo-de-braino time. Persons of either gender (just in case ladies and gentlemen isn’t PC anymore): the BRAINSQUEEZERS. 1. Coca Cola was originally ( clear; yellow; green ) 2. Approximately how many movies did John Wayne appear in? ( 22; 78; 200 ) 3. Albert Einstein never wore ( socks; hats; underwear ) 4. EEEUUU! On average, your desk area has more bacteria than a toilet by a factor of ( 4; 30; 400 ) 5. The most common street name in the US is ( Main Street; Oak Street; Second Street ) TIEBREAKER: What percentage of professional movie actors earn less than $5000 per year? A WHOPPING 85% OBSCURE EXTRA BONUS QUESTION: What country boasts of producing the most natural red-heads? SCOTLAND Sorry about the delay in getting these results out. Well, there was no question, as ROBERTO demolished the field (sparse as it was) by getting all 5 right. Heather got 4 to take second place. The tiebreaker question informs us that the sad truth is that the vast majority of actors make JACK, and only a select few make the big bucks (boo hoo). Answers on the TB ranged from 2% up to 80%. No skunks, and only James got the obscure question right. Everybody else guessed Ireland, except that the USA got one vote. (Hint: think “obscure” and not the obvious choice next time). Congrats to RoBo on the win – see you next week. MJB
