CLERMONT, FLA., APRIL 21, 2009: Hans Bentzon, a Principal of Lindemann Bentzon Bojack Architects & Engineers (LBB), has earned the designation of LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). This designation recognizes an individual who has passed the LEED Accredited Professional exam, and possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in the design process, to support and encourage integrated design, and to streamline the application and certification process.
The exam was launched in 2001 to recognize through accreditation an individual’s understanding of green building practices and principles, as well as familiarity with LEED requirements, resources and processes. It is administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI), which develops and administers credentialing programs aimed at improving green building practices.
GBCI was founded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), which is leading a national consensus for producing a new generation of buildings that deliver high performance both inside and out. Developed by USGBC, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary, consensus-based national rating system for green building design and construction that provides immediate and measurable results for building owners and occupants.
“Earning this accreditation is a significant accomplishment for LBB, as well as for me,” Bentzon said. “Clients are now looking for architectural and engineering firms that provide leadership in environmentally sustainable building practices. Becoming an LEED AP supplies the professional credential that proves our firm’s commitment.”
Based in Clermont, Fla., with an office in Jacksonville, Fla., LBB has been providing innovative, comprehensive architectural and engineering solutions for residential and commercial builders since 1994. For more information, visit the firm’s Web site, www.lbbe.com.
