CLERMONT, FLA., MAY, 2009: Lindemann Bentzon Bojack Architects & Engineers (LBB) has presented an initial proposal for housing and site design for BCPL Township at Lapatkota, Dibrugarh.
Located in Northeast India, the 130-acre community will be the company town of Bharat Petroleum. It will include 500 residential units, schools, recreational facilities, a retail complex, hospital, and water and electrical utilities. The residential units are being planned as a mix of single-family homes, duplexes, employee dormitories and housing for doctors serving the town’s hospital.
LBB’s experience with community design and construction projects in the northern territories of India positioned the firm as a strong contender in the bid for BCPL Township. The firm’s team made its presentation to township officials in January. A decision is expected soon.
“The goal of Bharat Petroleum in developing this town is to give its employees the opportunity to move out of highly populated areas,” said LBB Sr. Designer Lane Trawick, CPBD, AIBD. “We are very pleased that LBB was invited to present this proposal, and look forward to the opportunity to help shape this new community.”
